Our 18 hole Highlands golf course lies in the upper Spey Valley between the River Spey and the village of Newtonmore in the central Scottish Highlands. We are less than 20 miles south of Aviemore, about 50 miles from Inverness Airport, and easily accessible by road, rail and air travel from Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and the South.
Colin Montgomerie has said that “above all else golf should be enjoyable” and that golfers “should leave the course challenged, but satisfied – a total experience”. Colin also asserts that golf course designers should work with “the natural contours of the land” and that nature should “not be tampered with unnecessarily”. He further “believes strongly in variety and balance in course design, as well as in playability for all golfers”**. These words reflect the eternal truths and best practices of golf course design to which the architects of Newtonmore Golf Course have adhered for so many decades to create this classic Highlands golf course on the banks of the River Spey.
Newtonmore Golf Course is kept in very fine order and, from course and clubhouse, there are stunning views up and down the Spey Valley to great mountain ranges beyond.
