There are twelve Highlands golf courses in the Cairngorms National Park and, in the words of Sandy Lyle, all are set within spectacular scenery and offer everything a visiting golfer could wish for'. Most of them are very good value too!
Eight of the twelve Highlands golf courses are located in the Spey Valley (aka Badenoch and Strathspey) between Newtonmore in the upper Spey Valley and Grantown-on-Spey on the northern edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Here the Cairngorms Golf Pass offers an opportunity to experience best of Speyside golf, Highlands golf and Cairngorms golf in all their splendid and natural variety.
All twelve courses are members of a Highlands golf pass scheme which, for a fee of £20 offers up to 30% reduction on green fees (see terms below). These very modest prices for Cairngorms golf, together with availability of inexpensive Cairngorm Golf Hotels, provide opportunities for inexpensive Highlands golf breaks, for bargain Highlands golf holidays, and for a very economical Highlands golf tour.
While the twelve Highland golf courses share the magnificent scenery of the Cairngorms National Park, in other respects each course has distinctive features and character. And several of us can, with some justification, claim such labels as 'hidden gems' and 'Gleneagles of the North'.
